Designer’s Note
This flat card (with or without an envelope) has the modified “Hippocratic Oath” called the Florence Nightingale Pledge in honor of her – the founder of modern nursing. It was composed in by Lystra E. Gretter and a Committee for the Farrand Training School for Nurses, Detroit. It is often recited at graduation for nurses and included in programs honoring nurses during Nurses Day (May 6) and Nurses Week (May ). May is Florence Nightingale’s birth date.
